Wazahat Khan Qadri faces backlash: NGO demands equal action for hate posts

Wazahat Khan Qadri, whose FIR led to the arrest of a Gurugram law student and influencer for allegedly hurting religious sentiments, is now under scrutiny himself for allegedly posting communal and inflammatory content on social media.

Authorities have received at least seven complaints against Qadri, with the Lalbazar cyber cell and multiple police stations currently verifying the allegations. Officials have indicated that legal action will follow if the complaints are substantiated.

"We have received multiple complaints against Qadri at the Lalbazar (Kolkata police headquarters) cyber cell and multiple police stations, with excerpts of his social media posts. We are verifying them, and legal action will follow," a police official stated.

Among the complainants is Prasun Maitra, head of an NGO, who has labeled Qadri a "habitual offender" and demanded that authorities respond with the same urgency as they did in the case of the Instagram influencer.
