Saurabh Kumar calls DPIIT-GEAPP MoU a pivotal step for clean energy innovation

Saurabh Kumar, Vice President of GEAPP, emphasized the significance of the recent MoU with DPIIT, calling it a pivotal step for clean energy innovation in India. The partnership aims to foster entrepreneurship in the clean energy sector by supporting early-stage climate-tech startups.

The two-year collaboration will provide startups with access to funding, mentorship, pilot deployments, and market connections. Additionally, the initiative will launch the Energy Transitions Innovation Challenge (ENTICE), offering up to USD 500,000 in rewards for impactful energy solutions.

Kumar stated that this MoU represents a move towards systemic change, integrating government support with global expertise and local innovation. The program will be linked to the Startup India network, ensuring broad outreach and participation through major government schemes.

This initiative is expected to significantly enhance the landscape for clean energy startups in India, driving innovation and contributing to the country’s sustainability goals.
