Rolling Loud, the global hip-hop festival founded in 2015 by Matt Zingler and Tariq Cherif, is making its India debut in Mumbai, heralding a new era for the country's hip-hop culture.

The two-day festival aims to unite the entire Indian hip-hop community by providing a global platform for both international and homegrown artists. "We never imagined Rolling Loud would take us all the way to India — it’s incredible," said the co-founders, highlighting the booming hip-hop scene in India.

District by Zomato CEO Rahul Ganjoo emphasized the cultural significance, stating, "Rolling Loud coming to India isn’t just another festival drop; it’s a cultural shift. For years, we’ve felt the need to bridge India’s sound with the global stage, and this is that moment."

The festival will feature two distinct stages with elaborate production, alongside local food and drink vendors, art installations, and experiential activations celebrating Indian hip-hop culture.

Since its inception, Rolling Loud has grown from a regional event in Miami to a dominant global hip-hop festival, with editions in cities like New York, Los Angeles, and international locations including Thailand and Australia.

This Mumbai edition is poised to be a landmark event, spotlighting artists like Nigerian-born rapper Yung Sammy, who has embraced Indian languages and culture in his music, exemplifying the fusion and growth of hip-hop in India.

"The hip-hop scene in India has been booming, and bringing the festival to Mumbai felt like the right decision," the founders added, underscoring the festival’s role in elevating India’s hip-hop to a global audience.

With its blend of music, culture, and community, Rolling Loud India promises to be a transformative experience for fans and artists alike, marking a significant cultural milestone in the subcontinent’s music landscape.
