Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during the 10th Governing Council meeting of NITI Aayog held at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, emphasized the need to institutionalize civil defense and adopt a long-term approach to Operation Sindoor.

"Operation Sindoor should not be treated as a one-off initiative and we must adopt a long-term approach," Modi stated, underscoring the importance of sustained civil preparedness.

He highlighted the recent mock drills that have reignited focus on civil defense, urging states to embed this preparedness into their systems.

Modi also stressed the critical role of women in India's development, urging states to reform laws and improve working conditions to include more women in the workforce.

"We must empower 'nari shakti' by changing laws and ensuring ease of working," he said, calling for reforms in both public and private sectors.

Further, the Prime Minister encouraged states to develop at least one tourist destination each that meets global standards, aiming to boost local economies and attract international visitors.

The meeting, themed 'Viksit Rajya for Viksit Bharat @2047', brought together Chief Ministers and Lieutenant Governors to align strategies for making India a developed nation by 2047.

Modi reiterated that the aspiration for a 'Viksit Bharat' is shared by all 140 crore Indians and emphasized collaborative efforts between the Centre and states.

"If all States work together towards this goal, then we will make stupendous progress," he said.
