Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired the 10th Governing Council meeting of NITI Aayog, marking the first major gathering of all Chief Ministers and Lieutenant Governors after Operation Sindoor. Modi emphasized that the operation was not only a military success but also a symbol of Indias social unity and resolve.

Operation Sindoor, launched on May 7 in response to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack that killed 26 civilians, targeted nine terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir. The Indian Air Force executed precision strikes using advanced missiles, crippling Pakistani military infrastructure and terror hideouts.

"Operation Sindoor was not just a display of military might, but a reflection of Indias social strength," Modi said during the meeting.

The operation drew sharp political reactions. Opposition leader Rahul Gandhi criticized the governments foreign policy, accusing it of collapse and questioning US President Trumps role in mediating between India and Pakistan. The BJP countered, accusing Gandhi of undermining the armed forces and national security.

Meanwhile, Home Minister Amit Shah highlighted that Operation Sindoor exposed Pakistan as a sponsor of terrorism, responding to attacks on Indian civilians and military installations.

Diplomatic efforts intensified as India reached out to 32 countries, including UN Security Council members, to counter Pakistans narrative. An all-party delegation led by Shiv Sena MP Shrikant Shinde visited the UAE to strengthen cooperation against terrorism.

"The nation is united today, and all MPs stand with the government," said NITI Aayog CEO BVR Subrahmanyam, reflecting consensus across states.

The operation also showcased Indias advanced military capabilities, including the use of Rafale-launched SCALP missiles and SU-30 MKI-launched BrahMos missiles, and the activation of the S-400 air defense system.

Despite political controversies, the meeting underscored a unified stance against terrorism and reinforced Indias commitment to national security and social cohesion in the aftermath of Operation Sindoor.

Will JJ explain: Why has India been hyphenated with Pakistan? Why didn’t a single country back us in condemning Pakistan? Who asked Trump to ‘mediate’ between India & Pakistan? India’s foreign policy has collapsed.
