Tech:NYC and NYCEDC launch Obviously NYC to boost New York's booming AI sector

Tech:NYC and the New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC) have launched Obviously NYC, a new initiative designed by Red Antler to accelerate growth in New York City's thriving AI sector.

The initiative aims to capitalize on the city's rapid expansion in technology, particularly artificial intelligence, where New York now leads the nation with over 2,000 AI startups and 40,000 professionals. This surge reflects a broader tech boom, with the number of tech companies growing by 33% since 2018 and tech jobs increasing by 155% over the past 15 years.

Today, New York's tech sector supports more than 369,000 jobs and contributes 10.2% to the city's Gross Product, underscoring its vital role in the local economy.

"The launch of Obviously NYC underscores the incredible momentum in New York City's thriving tech industry," said a Tech:NYC representative. "At Tech:NYC we're committed to furthering this growth and creating an environment where tech founders, funders, and workers have the infrastructure and support they need to succeed."
