Türkiye emerges as key player in Nvidia’s European AI factory expansion

Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang has unveiled an ambitious plan to establish at least 20 artificial intelligence factories across Europe in the coming years, aiming to boost the continent's AI computing capacity tenfold within two years.

Among these, five will be gigafactory-scale operations featuring high-performance GPU clusters designed to train and run large language models, underscoring Nvidia's commitment to strengthening Europe's AI infrastructure.

A significant part of this expansion involves collaboration with French AI startup Mistral AI, which is positioned as Europe's answer to U.S.-based OpenAI and China's DeepSeek.

"With the right positioning around green energy, a young engineering workforce and its strategic geographic location, Türkiye could secure a spot on the emerging European AI map," analysts note, highlighting the country's potential as a key player in this technological surge.

Türkiye's advantages include its access to renewable energy sources, a growing pool of skilled engineers, and a strategic location bridging Europe and Asia, making it an attractive site for Nvidia's AI factory expansion.

This move reflects Europe's broader strategy to build sovereign AI infrastructure and compete globally with the U.S. and China in the rapidly evolving AI sector.

"Nvidia plans to increase AI computing capacity in Europe tenfold within two years," Huang stated, emphasizing the scale and urgency of the initiative.

As Nvidia accelerates its European footprint, Türkiye's emerging role could be pivotal in shaping the continent's AI future, combining technological innovation with strategic geographic and workforce advantages.
