Wipro is aggressively exploring Agentic AI and quantum computing to transform business operations and drastically shorten discovery cycles.
According to Wipro CTO Sandhya Arun, Agentic AI is delivering 20-35% efficiency gains by automating complex IT and HR processes, enhancing developer experience, and reducing effort rather than just focusing on productivity.
"We have a strategic approach called AI-powered Wipro, to deliver better for clients, operate better internally, and change the game," Arun said.
The company’s Innovation Network emphasizes client-centric co-innovation, integrating robotics, AI, and quantum computing to create impactful solutions.
Wipro is also pioneering AI agents, dubbed 'Droids,' that go beyond simple code generation to manage the entire software development lifecycle, including triaging alerts and troubleshooting incidents rapidly.
"These AI agents can build entire production-ready features from just a ticket or specification," highlighting a leap in automation capabilities.
Quantum computing efforts, though exploratory, target sectors like life sciences, pharma, telecom, and supply chain, aiming to reduce discovery cycles from years to weeks.
Arun noted that savings from Agentic AI are reinvested into upstream work rather than downsizing, signaling a focus on innovation and growth.
Currently, Agentic AI shows the most promise in cloud-native and digital-first businesses, with broader enterprise applications expected to emerge.
Wipro’s approach reflects a shift towards leveraging advanced AI and quantum technologies to drive efficiency, innovation, and client value in a rapidly evolving digital landscape.
