Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang delivered a stark warning at the Milken Institute Global Conference, urging workers worldwide to embrace artificial intelligence or face job loss. Huang emphasized that AI will not directly replace jobs but will transform how work is done, with those proficient in AI gaining a competitive edge.
"Youre not going to lose your job to an AI, but youre going to lose your job to someone who uses AI," Huang said, highlighting the urgency for workers to adapt.
He pointed out a significant global skills gap: out of nearly 8 billion people, only about 30 million are advanced in AI programming and usage. This gap underscores the risk for many workers who fail to upskill.
"I would recommend 100% of everybody take advantage of AI," Huang urged.
"Dont be that person who ignores this technology and as a result, loses your job."Contrasting with more pessimistic forecasts, such as Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei's prediction that half of entry-level white-collar jobs could vanish within five years, Huang offered a more optimistic outlook. He predicted AI could reintegrate 30 to 40 million workers into the economy, helping to bridge the technology divide.
Huang also highlighted four positive AI developments: the exponential growth of reasoning AI, the lifting of AI diffusion regulations, the success of enterprise AI agents, and the rise of industrial AI supporting onshoring and manufacturing.
Chris Hyams, CEO of job platform Indeed, supports this view, noting that while full automation is rare, AI already assists with tasks in nearly two-thirds of job roles.
Huang's message is clear: AI adoption is no longer optional but essential for job security and future workforce competitiveness.
