Prime Minister Narendra Modi highlighted the increasing trust in BSF women on the frontlines following the success of Operation Sindoor, India's largest counter-terrorism mission.

“Operation Sindoor is India's largest and most successful counter-terrorism operation... From the Command and Control Centre to destroying enemy posts, the brave daughters of the BSF displayed exceptional valour,” Modi said at the Lokmata Devi Ahilyabai Mahila Sashaktikaran Mahasammelan in Bhopal.

He emphasized the evolving role of women in India's defense forces, stating, “Today, women are being deployed in frontline positions in the Army, Navy, and Air Force.” This marks a significant shift in military policy and societal trust, recognizing women's capabilities in critical combat and strategic roles.

Modi also declared a firm stance against proxy wars, warning, “Proxy wars through terrorism will no longer be tolerated. Now, we will strike even inside enemy territory.” This reflects a more assertive defense posture following the operation.

The operation itself underscored the importance of modern warfare techniques, including cyber operations and integrated technology. Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan described Operation Sindoor as a turning point, noting the role of technology and the challenge of disinformation, which consumed 15% of armed forces' efforts.

General Chauhan stressed the need for specialized units for new capabilities like drones and electronic warfare, highlighting the future direction of India's military modernization.

Overall, Operation Sindoor has not only demonstrated the valor of BSF women but also signaled a broader transformation in India's defense strategy, combining frontline bravery with advanced technological integration.
