Apple iPhone 17 pricing set higher at Rs 89,900 in India amid tariff shifts

Apple is set to launch the iPhone 17 series in September 2025, introducing four models: iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Air, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max.

The new iPhone 17 will feature a larger 6.3-inch 120Hz ProMotion display, an upgrade from the previous 6.1 inches, enhancing scrolling smoothness and graphics performance.

Under the hood, the iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 Air will be powered by Apple's upcoming A19 chip, while the Pro models will use the more advanced A19 Pro chip, promising improved speed and power efficiency.

Camera upgrades include a front-facing camera resolution doubling from 12MP to 24MP across all models. The iPhone 17 Pro Max is rumored to feature a 48MP tetraprism telephoto lens for superior zoom capabilities.

Pricing in India starts at Rs 89,900, reflecting a slight increase attributed to global tariff shifts. This price is higher than previous models, aligning with the $899 starting price in the U.S. and AED 3,799 in the UAE.

"The most significant change will be incorporating a 120Hz ProMotion screen, which will smooth out scrolling and improve the graphics," reports indicate.

The iPhone 17 series aims to blend enhanced display technology, powerful processors, and advanced camera systems, marking a notable evolution in Apple's smartphone lineup amid changing global trade conditions.
