The Voltair team secured the $25,000 grand prize at the University of Washington’s 28th annual Dempsey Startup Competition, which drew a record 174 startups from 23 colleges and universities.

Voltair’s innovative solution employs AI-powered drones to monitor thousands of miles of power lines, especially in rural areas prone to wildfires. These drones survey vegetation encroaching on lines and inspect hardware degradation such as insulator wear.
