Pune-based startup NYAI has raised $1.5 million in a seed funding round led by Indian family offices. The funds will be used to enhance its compliance platform, which includes tools for legal research, document drafting, and regulatory compliance.
Founded in 2025 by Chinmay Bhosale and Vikrant Labde, NYAI aims to develop infrastructure for legal and compliance work. The startup plans to expand its collection of Indian statutory, regulatory, and judicial data and strengthen its AI compliance platform.3
NYAI's technology can integrate with existing large language models, ensuring that sensitive legal information remains within an organization’s infrastructure. The startup claims its system provides citation-backed results and is designed to prioritize legal accuracy, traceability, and accountability.
“In a jurisdiction as layered as ours, a tool is not an answer,” Bhosale stated, emphasizing the need for law firms and in-house legal teams to have infrastructure they can control, tailored to their specific legal practices rather than relying on a technology provider’s standard system.
Part of the funding will also support deployments among enterprises, listed companies, and law firms, NYAI said.2
