Kepler Aerospace, a Bengaluru-based startup, has raised $8 million in a seed round led by Blue Ashva Capital, marking its first external funding since its inception in 2018. The capital will be utilized to enhance its Mission Operations as a Service and Avionics as a Service offerings, as well as to launch the first six swarming ISR satellites.12

The funding will support the development of next-generation space-based persistent intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) capabilities. Navneet Singh, CEO of Kepler, stated, “The funding allows us to take the capabilities we have built over the last several years and deploy them at a meaningful scale.” The startup has also secured two iDEX prime contracts to provide swarming ISR constellations to India’s defense space ecosystem, backed by approximately $4 million in grants under the iDEX programme.

Satya Bansal, founder of Blue Ashva Capital, emphasized the significance of Kepler's technology, saying, “Kepler is doing something no one else has done: building and demonstrating an autonomous swarming satellite architecture... This is a capability of sovereign importance.” The startup aims to integrate satellite systems, avionics, ground infrastructure, and mission operations to enhance national security capabilities.34

As Kepler moves forward, its focus remains on executing its IDEX programmes and building the necessary infrastructure for persistent, low-latency intelligence delivery.

Key Insight
“The funding will support scaling of Mission Operations as a Service and Avionics as a Service verticals. CEO Navneet Singh says space-based awareness requires integrated avionics, ground systems, and mission operations, while Blue Ashva's Satya Bansal highlights the autonomous swarming satellite architecture that collapses the intelligence cycle from days to minutes.”
