- Former Swiggy and Zomato executives have launched a new AI startup named Profound with $1.5 million in seed funding.
Profound, founded by former Swiggy and Zomato executives Anuj Rathi and Prashant Parashar, has secured $1.5 million in seed funding to enhance its AI-driven platform for professional networking and hiring. The funding round attracted notable angel investors, including Swiggy CEO Sriharsha Majety and Razorpay CEO Harshil Mathur.1
The startup aims to revolutionize hiring by providing every professional with an AI-powered representative that initiates voice conversations to assess experience, expertise, and career goals. This innovative approach allows the platform to recommend job opportunities and facilitate professional introductions.
Additionally, hiring managers can create AI representatives for specific roles, capturing requirements through voice rather than traditional job descriptions. Rathi stated, "Just as actors have agents and athletes have managers, Profound gives each professional their own AI Rep."

With plans to onboard one million professionals globally, Profound has opened early access for its first cohort, with a wider beta launch expected later this year. The fresh capital will be utilized to expand engineering and product teams and enhance AI capabilities.
The seed round saw participation from angel investors including Swiggy CEO Sriharsha Majety, Swiggy cofounder Nandan Reddy, former Zomato cofounder Pankaj Chaddah, Razorpay CEO Harshil Mathur, WhatsApp Global Head Kunal Shah, and OfBusiness cofounder Bhuvan Gupta, along with venture capital firms Stellaris Venture Partners and 3one4 Capital.
