Emirates NBD has launched a strategic partnership with Techstars to foster AI and FinTech innovation across the MENAT region. This collaboration introduces an "Acceleration-to-Enterprise" model, connecting startups with Emirates NBD’s banking operations to enhance compliance, WealthTech, SME banking, and capital markets.1
The program will leverage Emirates NBD’s existing AI capabilities, which support over 50 active AI use cases, allowing selected startups to test enterprise-grade solutions on the bank’s cloud-native infrastructure. Neeraj Makin, Emirates NBD's group head of strategy, emphasized the partnership's role in strengthening the bank's innovation ecosystem and enhancing engagement with global technology networks.3

According to Miguel Rio Tinto, the bank's group chief digital and information officer, the partnership aims to capture the new wave of innovation in agentic finance, serving the bank's nine million active customers. David Cohen, CEO of Techstars, highlighted the UAE's commitment to becoming a global hub for data-driven innovation, making it an ideal launchpad for transformative financial solutions.
This initiative aligns with the Dubai Economic Agenda (D33), which seeks to position Dubai among the top four global financial centres by 2033. The partnership follows Emirates NBD's recent recognition as the top bank in the Evident AI Index for Banks in the Middle East and Africa, underscoring its leadership in AI maturity.5
