The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) has entered into partnerships with PhonePe and Shell India to bolster support for startups in India. The agreements, signed on August 19, aim to provide startups with access to essential resources beyond mere funding.1234
The PhonePe partnership focuses on enhancing startups' capabilities through its digital ecosystem. Eligible DPIIT-recognised startups will benefit from transaction credits via PhonePe's Payment Gateway, access to the Indus AppStore, and dedicated onboarding support. Additionally, PhonePe will conduct masterclasses and webinars covering critical topics such as fintech, sales, and business scaling.
Meanwhile, the agreement with Shell India targets startups in the energy and climate-tech sectors. Shell will provide mentorship, strategic guidance, and connections to investors and incubators. Participating startups will have the opportunity to engage with Shell's E4 Smart Energy Track, which is designed to facilitate access to expertise and scaling opportunities.
