Deeptech startup Suind has raised Rs 20.5 crore ($2.2 million) in seed funding led by Transition VC and IIMA Ventures. Founded in 2020 by Kunal Shrivastava and Kevin Kleber, Suind focuses on developing autonomous unmanned aerial systems that utilize computer vision for navigation, moving beyond traditional GPS reliance.13

The funding will enhance the commercial deployment of its DGCA-certified autonomous spraying drone, Bumblebee, which has already been deployed across various farms and plantations. Additionally, the capital will accelerate the development of Wasp, an aerial intelligence and inspection drone, while also strengthening Suind's proprietary autonomy technology and expanding its engineering team.24

Kunal Shrivastava, Co-founder and CEO, stated, “Suind was founded with the belief that drones should evolve from remotely operated flying machines into intelligent robotic workers capable of understanding and operating in the real world.”

Transition VC's Co-founder, Raiyaan Shingati, emphasized Suind's unique position in the market, noting, “Suind stands out among drone start-ups for its mastery of the vision-based near-Earth AI and autonomy stack designed for GPS-denied environments.”

Over the next 12 to 24 months, Suind plans to scale the manufacturing and deployment of Bumblebee while preparing Wasp for its commercial launch.5
