Bluehill.VC has successfully closed its first Frontier-Tech Fund at ₹400 crore, which includes a ₹50 crore greenshoe option. The fund attracted significant participation from institutional investors, including SIDBI and the governments of Kerala and Uttar Pradesh, as well as family offices and entrepreneurs.1

The firm focuses on early-stage investments in startups developing proprietary technologies in sectors such as energy, electric vehicles, nuclear, semiconductors, advanced materials, defence, space, water, manufacturing, robotics, industrial technologies, and IoT. According to the firm, the fund aims to build a concentrated portfolio of 15-16 companies, investing an average of USD 1-2 million in the first institutional round while closely collaborating with founders through an invest-and-build approach.

Since its inception, Bluehill.VC has already deployed ₹100 crore across seven portfolio companies and plans to invest an additional ₹80 crore over the next six months. The firm noted that it was unable to accommodate all investor commitments in this maiden fund, leading to plans for a second fund in 2027. Manu Iyer, Managing Partner and Co-founder, stated, "The final close of our maiden fund is a strong endorsement of that belief... Our ambition is simple - to help build companies from India that don't just participate in global markets, but define them."23

Key Insight
“Managing Partner and Co-founder Manu Iyer said the final close reflects investor confidence in identifying exceptional founders early. The firm could not accommodate all commitments in the maiden fund and expects to engage investors in the next fund, planned for 2027.”
