Germany's healthtech sector is experiencing significant growth in 2025, with Berlin-based Amboss leading the charge by raising a substantial
240 million in March. This funding accounts for more than a third of the nearly
523 million raised by German healthtech companies since the start of the year.
Amboss, a medical knowledge platform, exemplifies the innovation driving the sector. Alongside Amboss, other notable startups include Nelly, a financial operating system for medical practices based in Berlin, which has raised
68 million since its 2021 founding, including a
50 million Series B in January. Nelly supports over 1,500 clinics across Germany and Italy.
Munich-based Avelios Medical, developing an end-to-end hospital operating system, has raised
35 million, including a
30 million Series A led by Sequoia in February. Berlin's Nilo, focusing on employee mental health support, has raised
24 million since 2019, offering psychological and wellbeing tools to staff and HR departments.
"Germany’s healthtech scene seems to be having a moment," reflecting the rapid revenue growth and investment influx in the region.
These developments underscore Germany's position as a hub for healthtech innovation in Central Europe, with startups leveraging technology to digitize healthcare operations and improve patient and employee wellbeing.
