- Anthropic is in talks to acquire AI startup Decart for US$6 billion.
Anthropic PBC is in discussions to acquire Decart AI for around US$6 billion, as reported by sources familiar with the negotiations. The deal is not yet finalized, and there is a possibility that talks may collapse.1
Decart specializes in assisting AI developers in optimizing performance across various chips and is also engaged in generative video technology, utilizing advanced world models to modify live video feeds in real-time.
Despite the significance of the potential acquisition, both companies have refrained from commenting on the situation. A representative from Anthropic declined to provide details, while Decart's spokesperson did not respond to inquiries outside of regular business hours.
“The deal has not been finalised and talks could fall through,” said sources who requested anonymity due to the private nature of the negotiations. The outcome of these discussions could have substantial implications for the AI industry, particularly in the realms of chip performance and generative video capabilities.
“The potential acquisition would mark one of the largest AI startup deals this year, though neither company has confirmed the talks. A representative for Anthropic declined to comment, while Decart's spokesperson did not immediately respond to a request for comment.”
