Amadeus invests in AI startup Acai Travel to halve handling times for travel firms

Travel technology leader Amadeus has taken a strategic minority stake in New York-based AI startup Acai Travel, aiming to revolutionize operational efficiency for travel management companies (TMCs) and online travel agencies (OTAs).

Acai Travel’s AI-driven platform focuses on reducing handling times by 50%, empowering a younger, non-GDS-trained workforce, and delivering cost savings through end-to-end automation.

"We are already cutting average handling times by 50 per cent for our TMC and OTA clients, and we will begin working with airlines soon," said Vittoria, a representative of Acai Travel.

This investment reflects Amadeus’s commitment to supporting early-stage startups and maintaining its position at the forefront of travel technology innovation. The partnership is expected to enhance service delivery and operational agility across the travel sector.
