The Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) Season 12 auction wrapped up in Mumbai on June 1, featuring over 500 players across categories A to D.
Aanil Mohan, the all-rounder from Himachal Pradesh, was the top buy for U Mumba at
₹78 lakh, while Uday Parte was acquired by Jaipur Pink Panthers for
₹50.1 lakh.
This season's auction set a new benchmark with
10 players crossing the ₹1 crore mark, surpassing last year's record of 8. Iranian all-rounder Mohammadreza Shadloui Chiyaneh became the most expensive player, bought by Gujarat Giants for
₹2.23 crore. The second-highest bid was for Devank Dalal, the best raider of Season 11, who went to Bengal Warriorz for
₹2.025 crore.
In a surprising development, Pardeep Narwal, PKL's most successful raider, remained unsold during the auction.
The two-day event in Mumbai highlighted the growing competitiveness and financial muscle of the league, reflecting its status as India's second most franchise-based sports league.
"More than 500 players are under the hammer during the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) Season 12 auction," underscoring the depth of talent available.
The auction's success signals a promising season ahead for teams and fans alike, with high-profile signings and record-breaking bids setting the tone for PKL 2025.
