The Operation Sindoor delegation, aimed at strengthening ties with Indian communities and political dignitaries abroad, has moved forward to Algeria without former Union Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad, who was hospitalized in Kuwait due to abdominal pain.
Azad, a veteran political leader and key member of the multi-party delegation, had actively contributed to impactful meetings in Bahrain and Kuwait before his hospitalization. BJP MP Baijayant Jay Panda, the delegation leader, confirmed Azad's stable condition and ongoing medical supervision, stating,
"Halfway into our delegation's tour, Shri @ghulamnazad has had to be admitted to hospital. He is stable, under medical supervision, and will be undergoing some tests and procedures."Despite his absence, the delegation continues its mission to engage with a cross-section of political dignitaries, government officials, thought leaders, and members of the Indian community in Algeria.
Azad expressed disappointment at being bedridden, highlighting his significant role in the outreach efforts. He also criticized Pakistan for spreading disinformation, which he said increased tensions with India. In Kuwait, he remarked,
"Pakistan spreads a lot of disinformation. It is their habit. So, in the meetings that were held today a lot of questions and answers took place."The delegation's ongoing efforts reflect India's commitment to strengthening international alliances and countering misinformation, even as unforeseen health issues affect key members.
