Maruti Suzuki's Eeco has crossed the 15 lakh cumulative sales milestone in India, achieving this feat 16 years after its launch in January 2010. The sales pace has notably accelerated, with the latest 5 lakh units sold in just 3.5 years, compared to the first 5 lakh which took eight years.1234
In FY2025-26, approximately 65% of Eeco sales originated from rural markets, highlighting its appeal in less urbanized areas. Additionally, 55% of buyers were first-time car owners, while more than 51% were business owners, indicating a diverse customer base.5
The Eeco is available in various configurations, including 5-seater and 6-seater passenger versions, as well as Tour V, Cargo, and Ambulance options. It offers both petrol and factory-fitted S-CNG powertrains, with the latter's contribution to sales rising from 12% in FY2019-20 to 48% in FY2025-26.68

The vehicle is powered by Maruti's 1.2-litre K-Series Dual Jet engine, boasting a claimed fuel efficiency of 19.71 km/l for petrol and 26.78 km/kg for S-CNG versions. Standard features include six airbags, ESP, ABS with EBD, and reverse parking sensors, enhancing safety and convenience for users.7
The shortening intervals between each 5 lakh sales milestone suggest that demand for the Eeco is not waning but rather increasing, particularly among rural and business customers.
