Kia has officially confirmed the launch of the Sorento SUV in India, targeting a debut around Diwali 2026. The new model will be available in both 6-seater and 7-seater configurations, featuring a strong hybrid powertrain alongside a diesel option.2

The Sorento is expected to be equipped with a 1.6-litre turbocharged petrol hybrid engine and a 2.2-litre CRDi turbo diesel engine, delivering a fuel economy of 16 to 20 kmpl. The SUV will also include advanced features such as wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a Bose sound system, and LEVEL 2 ADAS tech.
Kia is positioning the Sorento to compete with higher-spec variants of the Mahindra XUV 7XO and Tata Safari, with pricing expected between Rs 28 lakh to Rs 38 lakh ex-showroom. The SUV will feature a modern design with T-shaped LED headlamps and a large Tiger Nose grille, alongside a spacious cabin equipped with dual screens and a panoramic sunroof.
