Jyoti Malhotra's father backtracks on defense amid her arrest for spying for Pakistan

Jyoti Malhotra, a 33-year-old YouTuber from Hisar, was arrested under the Official Secrets Act for allegedly sharing sensitive military information with Pakistani intelligence.
"Jyoti visited the Pakistan high commission in Delhi to apply for a visa," authorities stated, where she met a key figure, Danish.
"She was being developed as a long-term asset," police noted, indicating her involvement in espionage activities.
Malhotra's father initially defended her, but later claimed ignorance of her travels.
"Currently under police custody, her financial transactions and travel details are under scanner," officials revealed, as investigations continue into her connections with multiple Pakistani nationals since 2023.
The case has drawn attention amid rising tensions between India and Pakistan, with Malhotra being one of at least 12 arrests linked to espionage activities following the Pahalgam attack.
"She was charged under Section 152 of the Bhartiya Naya Sanhita, along with Sections 3 and 5 of the Official Secrets Act," according to the FIR filed against her.
Investigators are scrutinizing her use of encrypted messaging platforms like WhatsApp and Telegram to communicate with her contacts in Pakistan.
