Former Arsenal captain Thierry Henry has criticized the club's lack of silverware in the past three years under manager Mikel Arteta, urging the team to sign a "proper nine" striker to improve their fortunes.

Henry highlighted Arsenal's failure to reach any finals during this rebuilding period, contrasting sharply with Manchester United, who have played in five finals over the last five years despite criticism.

"Manchester United have played in five finals in the last five years, the United that everyone laughs at, whereas for Arsenal in the last three years of building, they've not reached a final," Henry said.

He also pointed out that Arsenal should have at least won a cup or reached a final in this timeframe, emphasizing the club's underachievement.

"For the last three years Arsenal have been in a situation where they should have at least brought one cup or reached a final," he added.

Henry suggested that the club's injury issues, particularly hamstring injuries, might be linked to training methods, stating, "How come Arsenal have so many hamstring injuries? We all played and its usually on how you train."

While acknowledging that rebuilding takes time and managers need patience, Henry stressed that results should have been better by now.

"It takes time and you have to give a manager time to be able to implement what he wants to do. Now, for the last three years, Arsenal have been in a situation where they should have at least brought one cup in or a final," he said.

The former striker's comments underline the pressure on Arsenal to strengthen their squad, particularly in attack, to end their trophy drought and compete at the highest level again.
