Puma has officially taken over as the Premier League's match ball supplier for the 2025-26 season, ending Nike's 25-year tenure. The new ball, named Orbita Ultimate PL, features 12 evenly-sized star-shaped panels designed for optimal weight distribution, durability, and enhanced aerodynamics.

The ball will debut in July during the Premier League Summer Series in the United States, involving clubs like Manchester United, Everton, West Ham, and Bournemouth, before the official league kickoff on August 16.

Beyond the technical innovation, Puma and the Premier League have launched a new long-term partnership focusing on social impact. This includes support for grassroots football through Premier League Kicks, initiatives for girls and women’s grassroots football, international community activations, and the No Room For Racism campaign.

Richard Teyssier, Puma’s Vice President of Brand & Marketing, emphasized the emotional connection football creates: “By emphasizing the emotional and liberating aspects of playing football, the ‘Have a Ball’ campaign highlights how the simple act of just having the ball can bring immense joy and excitement.”

Will Brass, Chief Commercial Officer of the Premier League, called the launch “the beginning of an exciting new chapter.”

This partnership marks Puma as only the third brand to supply the Premier League match ball since its inception in 1992-93, following Mitre and Nike. The collaboration aims to blend innovation on the pitch with meaningful community engagement off it, signaling a new era for the league.

“On average, a professional footballer has control of the ball for around 109 seconds every game, so when you have the ball at your feet you need to make it count and create moments that make a difference on the pitch,” Teyssier added, underscoring the importance of the ball’s design.

The Orbita Ultimate PL’s debut in the U.S. also reflects the Premier League’s growing international footprint and Puma’s commitment to expanding football’s reach globally.
