United have confirmed they will meet the a330 million release clause in Delap's contract, contingent on the striker's approval for the move to Old Trafford. Delap, who scored 12 goals last season despite Ipswich's relegation, joined the club last summer for up to a320 million.

"United have informed Ipswich that they will meet the a330 million ($40.6m) release clause in Delap's contract if he gives the green light for a move to Old Trafford," reports state.

In addition, United are eyeing Brentford's Bryan Mbeumo, who has been in outstanding form, netting 20 Premier League goals and providing seven assists in 38 appearances this season.

"Reports have indicated that it could take an offer in the region of a350million to extract the 25-year-old," who has scored 29 Premier League goals since last season, from Brentford.

Brentford's openness to selling Mbeumo if the right offer arrives adds momentum to United's pursuit. Manager Thomas Frank acknowledged the club's willingness to consider offers.

"The Bees will be 'open' to cashing in on the former Troyes man if an acceptable offer is put on the table," Frank said.
