Kaizer Chiefs are gearing up for a significant squad overhaul ahead of the 2025 South African Premier League season, with uncertainty surrounding the future of their first-choice goalkeeper, Rwanda international Fiacre Ntwari.

The club has reportedly capitalized on Orlando Pirates' failure to renew winger Monnapule Saleng's contract, securing the 27-year-old on a pre-contract deal. Saleng, who made 26 goal contributions during the 2022/2023 campaign, including a winning goal in the MTN8 final and a key assist in the Nedbank Cup final, had not featured for Pirates since December due to contractual disputes.

"Speculation intensified when it emerged that Pirates had failed to act on a renewal clause. This reportedly allowed Chiefs to swoop in and secure his services via a pre-contract," reports indicate.

However, former Pirates midfielder Benedict Vilakazi has expressed doubts about Saleng's fit within Chiefs' current playing style, suggesting the club faces challenges integrating the winger.

Meanwhile, Chiefs missed out on signing 23-year-old Marumo Gallants midfielder Masindi Nemtajelo, who has committed to a four-year contract with Orlando Pirates, including an option for an additional season.
