Julian Nagelsmann praises Florian Wirtz’s Liverpool move as a very good step

Germany mens national team coach Julian Nagelsmann has publicly endorsed Florian Wirtzs recent decision to join Liverpool FC, describing it as a "very good step."

Nagelsmann acknowledged the surprise of Wirtz rejecting Bayern Munich, Germanys Rekordmeister, in favor of the Premier League giants. He emphasized that ultimately, "every player has to decide for himself," but praised Liverpool as "a great club" with "a great environment" where Wirtz can play in his preferred position.

"Its not official, but if its Liverpool, then itd be a very good step because he can play in his position, a great environment, great club," Nagelsmann said.

The coach also reflected on the potential of Wirtz playing alongside Bayern teammate Jamal Musiala, noting it would have been beneficial but remains optimistic about their relationship despite being at different clubs.

"It wouldve been good to have them [Wirtz and Musiala] playing together, but Jamal and Flo can get on well together even if theyre not at the same club," Nagelsmann added.
