An American Airlines flight to Bermuda was forced to abort its takeoff at Miami International Airport on Friday after an unauthorized aircraft entered the runway. The incident occurred around 6 p.m., prompting an investigation by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).³

According to American Airlines, flight 308 had received clearance for takeoff when crew members spotted the other plane on the runway. An airline official stated, “the crew discontinued its takeoff when (they) observed another aircraft on the runway.”

The FAA confirmed that the other plane was unauthorized to be on the runway and is currently looking into the matter. A spokesperson for the FAA emphasized the importance of safety in air travel, stating that such incidents are taken seriously.

In a separate announcement, Walt Disney World revealed plans for the 2026 Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party, which will feature a new entertainment offering with Captain Jack Sparrow. The event runs from August 7 through October 31, 2026, with ticket prices ranging from $119 to $229. This year, there will be 38 nights of festivities, similar to last year, and the new Captain Jack Sparrow experience aims to enhance crowd distribution in Adventureland.⁴⁵⁶⁷

Disney has gradually reintroduced Captain Jack Sparrow into its entertainment lineup, with this new offering expected to attract more guests to the area, which has been less popular during the Halloween festivities.
