Microsoft has unveiled new Windows 11 preview builds 26300.8758 and 26220.8754, enhancing user experience with redesigned taskbar settings and a new Insider Channel system.¹²³⁴⁵⁶

The updates aim to simplify taskbar customization, introducing a dedicated Taskbar Size setting that allows users to easily personalize their taskbar experience.

Additionally, Microsoft has refined the transitions between taskbar sizes, improving overall reliability, particularly in loading the system tray area.

The new Insider Channel experience, which replaces the previous Canary, Dev, and Beta Channels, will be available to all Windows 11 users in the coming weeks.

Microsoft emphasized that the Experimental Channel is where new features will appear first, allowing user feedback to directly influence development.

However, the company will end controlled feature rollouts (CFRs) on this channel, although some A/B testing of new features will continue.

As part of this rollout, users can expect a smoother overall experience with the taskbar, making it easier to navigate and customize their settings.

“Taskbar customization just got easier,” Microsoft stated, highlighting the focus on user-friendly design.
