Félix, a Miami-based WhatsApp-native remittance startup, has successfully raised $200 million in Series C funding, co-led by Andreessen Horowitz and General Catalyst. This funding will enable Félix to expand its services beyond remittances into lending, savings, and AI-driven financial services targeting Latin American immigrants in the U.S.1357
The company has processed over $8 billion in transactions, serving more than 6 million people across 11 countries, including Mexico, El Salvador, Colombia, and Ecuador. With the new capital, Félix aims to develop an AI-powered financial assistant to aid users in making everyday financial decisions and to enhance its engineering and financial infrastructure.

CEO and co-founder Manuel Godoy emphasized the importance of a conversational interface, stating, “The conversational experience really gives people the feeling that they are talking to a real person, even though it’s a chatbot.” The startup has also introduced mobile top-ups, allowing users to purchase phone plans for relatives abroad, and plans to expand into markets like Brazil and Venezuela.4
As U.S. policy shifts and immigrant demographics evolve, the demand for digital remittances is increasing, putting pressure on traditional players like Western Union and MoneyGram International. Félix, which has raised nearly $300 million to date, is poised to capitalize on this trend, having seen its revenue grow more than 2.5 times in the past year.
“The funding combines $87 million in equity from A16z with a $113 million credit line from General Catalyst's Customer Value Fund, pushing Félix's total raised to nearly $300 million. The company, which has processed over $8 billion in transfers, aims to challenge incumbents like Western Union in a Latin American remittance market estimated at over $160 billion annually.”
