Whatfix co-founder and CEO Khadim Batti passes away; he was a prominent figure in India's startup ecosystem

Khadim Batti, co-founder and CEO of Whatfix, passed away due to a cardiac arrest, leaving a profound impact on India's startup ecosystem. He was around 50 years old.¹²³

Batti co-founded Whatfix in 2014 with Vara Kumar Namburu, transforming it from a small startup into a global enterprise software leader with over 1,100 employees and clients among the Fortune 500. Under his leadership, Whatfix pioneered a digital adoption platform that enhances software usability for employees, addressing a critical gap in enterprise software usage.

His journey began in 2010, and before Whatfix, he served as Delivery Head at Huawei Technologies India and co-founded SearchEnabler. Batti's vision for Whatfix was to shift the focus from traditional training to “userization,” integrating guidance directly into software.⁶⁷

Batti's contributions extended beyond Whatfix; he was a key member of the SaaSBoomi governing council and a founding member of AIBoomi, fostering the SaaS and AI communities in India. Avinash Raghava, CEO of SaaSBoomi, expressed his sorrow, stating, “We have lost someone very special today.”⁴⁵

Whatfix recently raised $125 million in a Series E funding round, valuing the company at nearly $900 million. Batti's legacy will continue to inspire many in the startup community, as he was remembered not just for his professional achievements but also as a “wonderful friend” and “generous mentor.”
