Vice-President CP Radhakrishnan launched 'Gnani Artha', a sovereign AI stack, at Uprashtrapati Bhavan, comprising Evon 3.3, a large language model, and Plexus, a platform linking AI with real-world applications. He emphasized that India must transition from being a technology consumer to a creator.1
Radhakrishnan noted the significant transformation in technology, stating, "Technology has transformed dramatically, from the era of typewriters and limited use of personal computers to today’s age of Artificial Intelligence and Large Language Models." He expressed confidence that AI will create new employment opportunities, similar to the IT sector's impact in the past.
Highlighting India's rapid advancements in AI, he mentioned initiatives like the IndiaAI Mission and Centres of Excellence for AI as key drivers of the country's technological transformation. He attributed much of this momentum to the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, whose commitment to an ‘India First’ approach is enhancing India's capabilities in emerging technologies.23
Radhakrishnan also pointed out the use of AI in Parliament, with the Digital Sansad portal enabling access to debates in multiple languages and AI-based interpretation in eight languages during sessions.
