Lloyd Robertson, a legendary figure in Canadian journalism, passed away at the age of 92, as confirmed by a family statement to CTV News.1

Robertson, who joined CTV in 1976, served as chief anchor and senior editor from 1984 to 2011, leaving an indelible mark on the network and the industry.

His career spanned over six decades, beginning at CJCS radio in Stratford in 1952, and included significant roles at CBC.

Known for his signature sign-off, “And that’s the kind of day it’s been,” Robertson became a trusted voice for Canadians during pivotal moments in history.
