In a recent wave of attacks, Ukrainian forces successfully shot down seven ballistic missiles and 258 drones during a prolonged assault that began Wednesday night. “Overnight, Russia carried out a massive strike against Ukraine, targeting ports, grain storage, energy, industry and other infrastructure,” stated Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha.
The strikes have not only targeted military installations but also civilian infrastructure, including a thermal power plant in Kherson, which lost all generating capacity due to the attacks. “The Russians struck a purely civilian facility that provides heat to a significant portion of Kherson’s residential buildings,” said Naftogaz CEO Sergiy Fedorenko.56
