Tyler Robinson, 23, has pleaded not guilty to the murder of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, with a judge ruling there is probable cause for all seven charges against him, including aggravated murder. Prosecutors aim to seek the death penalty if he is convicted.123

During the arraignment, the judge's decision marked a significant step in the pursuit of justice for Kirk's family, who expressed their emotions in the courtroom. Deputy Utah County Attorney Ryan McBride stated that Robinson allegedly killed Kirk due to a disagreement, asserting that he fired a high-power rifle into a crowd of over 3,000 people at Utah Valley University where Kirk was speaking.8

Evidence presented includes surveillance footage that tracked Robinson's movements on the day of the shooting, as well as circumstantial evidence linking him to the crime scene, such as a rifle found nearby. McBride described Robinson's actions as premeditated, noting he returned to campus dressed to conceal the weapon.

Defense attorney Staci Visser argued against the aggravating circumstances for the death penalty, claiming there were no direct threats to others and questioning the prosecution's interpretation of the evidence. The next court date is scheduled for October 23, where a trial date will be set.6
