TP-Link unveils first consumer Wi-Fi 8 routers, Archer 8 Ultra and Deco 8 Ultra, with up to 22Gbps speeds; preorders open September 30 in select regions

TP-Link has unveiled its first consumer Wi-Fi 8 routers, the Archer 8 Ultra and Deco 8 Ultra, which promise impressive speeds of up to 22Gbps. The Archer 8 Ultra BN19000 features a tri-band setup with 18 internal antennas and can deliver up to 19Gbps of aggregate wireless speeds.¹²³⁴⁵⁷

The Deco 8 Ultra BN22000, designed for larger spaces, can cover up to 9,800 square feet and support over 200 connected devices. Both routers will have 10Gbps wired connectivity and are set to be available for preorder on September 30, 2026.

TP-Link's new offerings will be showcased at IFA 2026, with plans to expand the Wi-Fi 8 portfolio by Q2 2027 to include additional products like a travel router and range extenders. The company emphasizes that its new routers utilize advanced technologies such as Enhanced Long Range (ELR) and Distributed Resource Units (DRU) to enhance connectivity, especially for low-power IoT devices.⁶

“We stopped building a piece of networking equipment and started designing for the home,” said TP-Link's industrial design chief Gary Chang, highlighting the focus on aesthetics and performance. However, TP-Link has yet to secure FCC approval for these products in the U.S., limiting initial availability to select regions.
