SpaceXAI launched the Grok 4.5 AI model on Wednesday, marking a significant advancement in its offerings for coding and agentic tasks. The model was trained on tens of thousands of Nvidia GB300 graphics processing units, emphasizing meticulous data filtering and quality scoring.123
Grok 4.5 is available through the Grok Build coding agent in Cursor and via the SpaceXAI console, requiring an API key for access. The model is priced at $2 per million input tokens and $6 per million output tokens, making it competitive in the market. CEO Elon Musk described it as an “Opus-class model, but faster, more token-efficient and lower cost.”
The company is also expanding its reach in the enterprise AI tools market, having announced last month its acquisition of Anysphere, the startup behind Cursor, in a $60 billion all-stock deal. Musk's AI startup, xAI, was acquired by SpaceX in February and has since been integrated into SpaceXAI.
In comparison, rival Anthropic’s Claude Opus 4.8 is priced at $5 per million input tokens and $25 per million output tokens, while OpenAI’s GPT-5.6 Luna will launch at $1 per million input tokens and $6 per million output tokens on Thursday, following a delay due to national security concerns.45
