Sony Electronics has launched the SEL814G, its inaugural fisheye zoom G Lens, designed for full-frame Alpha E-mount cameras.1

The lens offers an 8 mm to 14 mm zoom range, providing a 180-degree angle of view at both ends, with circular fisheye at 8 mm and diagonal fisheye at 14 mm.4

It features a constant aperture of f/3.5, ensuring consistent exposure across the zoom range.

Weighing only 314 grams (11.1 ounces) and measuring 63.1 mm in diameter and 82.8 mm in length, the lens is compact and lightweight, making it ideal for handheld and rig-based shooting.5

The minimum focusing distance is 0.15 m, allowing for close-up fisheye perspectives with a maximum magnification of 0.22x.

The lens is equipped with fast, precise autofocus and features a focus mode switch, zoom lock switch, and an aperture ring with switchable click stops.

Pre-orders commence at 7 AM PST/10 AM EST on Sept. 8, 2026, with the lens showcased at IBC 2026 in Amsterdam starting Sept. 11.2

This lens is built for various applications, including landscapes, architecture, sports, and video production, and supports spatial content production when used with the VENICE Extension System Mini.

The optical design incorporates ED glass and aspherical elements to minimize aberrations, ensuring high resolution throughout the zoom range.
