Iyer is closing in on the record for the most sixes by an Indian in one IPL season, currently held by Abhishek Sharma with 42 sixes. His six-hitting prowess this year is remarkable, especially considering his combined sixes in the last three seasons were fewer than his current tally.

His improved performance is attributed to focused training on his bat swing and a mental switch involving visualization techniques. His strike rate this season stands at a blistering 175.80, reflecting his aggressive and effective batting style.

"We worked on Shreyas' bat swing with a focus on helping him connect well," said a team source.

Iyer's unbeaten 87 off 41 balls in a chase of 204 exemplifies his captain's knock and ability to perform under pressure.

With his current form, Iyer is not only leading his team but also rewriting IPL six-hitting records, making him one of the standout performers of IPL 2025.
