Seattle police search for two Space Needle BASE jumpers who parachuted from observation deck; they face trespassing charges

Seattle police are actively searching for two men who executed a BASE jump from the iconic Space Needle on Friday night, an act that has led to trespassing charges.¹⁵

The incident occurred around 8:50 p.m. when the jumpers, who had purchased tickets, were seen on security cameras at the top level of the structure.

After entering a restroom, they emerged wearing helmets and proceeded to climb over the glass barrier before jumping off the 605-foot landmark.

"We can confirm there was an illegal incident at the Space Needle and are working closely with the Seattle Police Department," stated a Space Needle representative.

Security personnel were unable to determine where the men landed, and police have not yet identified them, describing them only as white men in their late 20s.³⁴

The Seattle Police Department is reviewing security footage as part of their investigation into the incident, which has garnered attention on social media, with videos capturing the jumpers' daring leap.

"Both suspects then approached the glass window facing northbound, with Lake Union in the background; the two men then ran and jumped over to the opposite side of the glass," police reported.

The incident has raised concerns about safety and security at the popular tourist destination, prompting a review of existing protocols.

As the investigation continues, authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward.
