Samsung enhances camera supply chain for Galaxy Z Flip 8 and Z Fold 8 series amid iPhone Ultra comparisons

Samsung is enhancing its camera supply chain for the Galaxy Z Flip 8 and Z Fold 8 series, adding new suppliers to improve reliability and reduce costs. This strategic move is crucial as the foldable smartphone market is set for significant growth in 2024, particularly with the anticipated launch of the iPhone Ultra.²³⁵

The Galaxy Z Flip 8 will feature a 50MP primary camera, a 12MP ultrawide camera, and a 10MP front-facing camera, similar to its predecessor. Its camera modules will be supplied by Camsys and MCNEX for the front, while the rear modules will come from Powerlogics, Samsung Electro-Mechanics, and Sunny Optical.

In contrast, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 is expected to include two 10MP front-facing cameras, a 50MP primary rear camera with OIS, and a 50MP ultrawide camera. The potential for a 200MP primary camera in the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra could further elevate its standing against the iPhone Ultra, which is rumored to feature a 5800mAh battery and advanced camera capabilities.⁴⁶
