The B8 engine, referred to internally as the ‘Erprober’ or ‘tester’, is designed for future road use and is currently fitted into a modified RUF CTR3 prototype. “There are moments in a company's history that define the future. For RUF, the Boxer 8 is one of those moments,” said Alois Ruf in a press release.4
The B8 engine is a twin-turbocharged 4.4-liter boxer configuration, a first for the company. “A boxer-eight has never been part of our story,” Ruf added, emphasizing the engine's uniqueness.
