The Johor Baru-Singapore Rapid Transit System (RTS) Link, set to commence operations on January 1, 2024, is designed to significantly enhance cross-border connectivity. The 4km shuttle service will connect Bukit Chagar in Johor Baru to Woodlands North in Singapore, aiming to transform the daily commute for 350,000 people who currently use the Causeway.
Commuters will experience rapid immigration clearance, with 100 e-gate lanes at the Bukit Chagar integrated immigration, customs, and quarantine (ICQ) complex. Passengers are expected to complete the entire process—from ticketing to boarding—in just 25 minutes. This includes five minutes each for ticketing, security, and immigration checks. The station will feature high-tech security screening, including 18 luggage scanners and nine body scanners that utilize advanced technology to detect prohibited items.45
The ICQ complex will also provide amenities such as a nursing room and self-service ticket kiosks, ensuring a comfortable experience for travelers. Additionally, a 409m pedestrian linkway will connect passengers to nearby malls, capable of dispersing 10,000 passengers at once, further enhancing the station's accessibility.
