RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat addressed the concerns of Gen Z, stating, “As far as Gen Z is concerned and what happened recently, their grievance is genuine. Today’s generation wants logical answers.” He emphasized that protest serves as a vital form of dialogue in a democracy, urging society to engage with the youth's issues.12
Bhagwat highlighted the importance of self-discipline on social media, warning against the dangers of misinformation. He stated, “Today, technology can create fake videos using our faces and voices. Knowing this, people should never believe anything on social media without verifying it from authentic sources.” He called for a collective societal response to the challenges posed by technology, asserting that “if you ban something, it simply moves to the black market and spreads even more.”
The RSS chief also pointed out the responsibility of social media influencers, saying, “If I am a social media icon and 10 lakh people follow me, it becomes my responsibility to ensure they do not end up in a problem by following me.” He urged the older generation to guide the youth in using social media wisely.
In addition, Bhagwat supported increasing education spending to 6% of GDP, stating, “Education is not a commercial business; it should be structured in such a way that it is available for all.” His remarks reflect a broader call for societal change and responsibility in addressing the needs of younger generations.
