Rockstar Games offers free upgrades to current-gen GTA V for Xbox One and PS4 players ahead of GTA VI release.

Rockstar Games is set to enhance the gaming experience for GTA V players by offering free upgrades to the current-gen versions on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Starting tomorrow, players on last-gen consoles can claim these upgrades, which include significant graphical and performance improvements.¹²

The enhanced versions support up to 4K graphics, 60 FPS, and ray tracing, along with new features such as Hao’s Special Works high-performance vehicles and upgrades, and Career Progress rewards. Players will also benefit from easy migration of their Story Mode and Online progress.³⁴

These upgrades come just months before the release of GTA VI, which is scheduled to launch on November 19, 2026, following two delays. The anticipation for the new title is palpable, as it promises to build on the success of its predecessor, which has sold over 185 million copies worldwide.⁵⁶
